THE TOWER OF BABEL
This installation portrays the confusion of Babel in today’s world, gives it new meaning and poses timeless questions through an artist’s eye. People and languages get mixed and interact with each other. At the same time this political statement studies the present day where there’s an influx of people, information, goods, money and ideas, where the need for communication takes gigantic proportions and distances get constantly reduced with the help of technology.
Within this dystopian present the human race is yearning a utopia that manifests through the poetry of life itself. It is our resistance that matters. To quote Italo Calvino in “Invisible Cities”, “…seek and learn to recognize who and what, in the midst of hell, are not hell, then make them endure, give them space.”
