This project aimed for the PlatformProject@Art-Athina 2013 consists of a network formed by a cluster of drawers. 33 artists coexisting, each one of them transforming a personal drawer into a place of social discussion, contradiction or a meeting point. The drawers interact with each other, while establishing at the same time a standalone and integrated, yet polyphonic event. The viewer selects his/her personal view of the work, opening and closing the drawers, thus interfering with the construction and constantly defining its final form.

Vivi Perysinaki in her own drawer travels us through three generations’ personal and family memorabilia all the way to the latest history of Greece and its transformation from a rural to an urban society. Through her grandmother’s sewing kit, her parents’ photos as children, her own christening clothes and her childish fears in the form of a black hand making its way to the surface, the crocheted phrase “I am” emerges, as a statement of identity and a need to embrace the present.
