Vivi Perysinaki (born 1976, Athens, and has lived in Athens and Istanbul) is a visual artist, curator and art teacher.
She studied Graphic Design and Animation in the Technological Educational Institution of Athens (1994-1999), Painting in the Athens School of Fine Arts under the Prof. Tr. Patraskidis (2001-2004) and Tapestry in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, Portugal (2003) after receiving a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation.
She has curated a number of shows, such as "Tomorrow is Another Day, Tomorrow is not Another Today", metamatic:TAF, Athens, 2016 along with curator Scott McGovern, as well as the participation of the artistic groups We33 by Artia Gallery and The Red Boat Projects in the Platforms Project and Platforms Project Net, Athens Scholl of Fine Arts, Athens, 2019-2022. In 2012 she created the women’s group Nima and curated a yarn bombing performance at Votanikos Kipos Community in Petroupolis. In 2005 she represented Greece in the department of Sculpture in Passion: 12th Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean, Castel Sant' Elmo, Naples, Italy. In 1999 she received the 3rd Price Award in a graphic design competition themed School Libraries.
She has worked in animated feature films, such as "Jester Till", Munich Animation Films, 2003, "Rugrats Go Wild", Paramount Pictures, 2002 and "Eight Crazy Nights", Sony-Columbia, 2001.
She is also an art teacher working in public schools and the Art School of Peristeri. She has been a panel member and has held workshops in a number of conferences organized by the Art Teachers’ Association (2011 onwards) and has published articles about art teaching in the yearly magazine Art Education (No 27, 32, 34).
In her work as a visual artist she incorporates tapestry, crochet and macrame techniques.
